What 9vids does
It's a free way to save the video, clip or audio from a public post on any of nine platforms, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat, X (Twitter), Instagram, SoundCloud, Dailymotion and VK. You use it in the browser on iPhone, Android or PC, because there's no app to install and no APK either.
We don't host any videos, and there's no library here to browse. Each download is streamed from the platform through our server to your browser as it arrives. Nothing is written to our disk along the way, no copy is kept afterwards, and the save link expires after about 10 minutes.
You don't pay or sign up for 9vids
Nothing here costs money, and nothing asks you to subscribe, sign up or log in, so you never make an account with us. Platform logins don't come our way either. 9vids won't ask for yours or ever see or use it, and it doesn't connect to any account you hold, so nothing you do here touches them.
Free isn't unlimited, though. There's a fair-use allowance, set out in section 8, so the tool stays open to everyone and one heavy user can't crowd the rest out.
Personal use is what 9vids is for
Save things for yourself. People keep a video to watch on a flight with no signal, or a clip they're in, or the family recording a cousin posted publicly and might delete next year, and some only want the audio of a track to listen to on their own.
Once it's in your camera roll, the video is still the creator's, and we ask you to respect that. Keep to the rules of the platform it came from and to the applicable law where you live, and if you pass the file on to anyone, credit the creator.
Can I use 9vids for commercial purposes?
Not with anyone else's content. You can't use 9vids to download videos, clips or audio in order to sell them, re-upload them, make money from them or put them out as your own work.
Pressing download doesn't move the rights anywhere. The file carries the same rights it had on the platform, and they stay with the creator or whoever holds them; 9vids doesn't get them, and neither does the person who saved the file. If you want to use someone's video commercially, get their permission before you do anything with it.
Your own posts are a separate case. Saving a copy of a video you published yourself is ordinary use of 9vids, and what you do with your own work afterwards is your call.
Uses that break these terms
Any of the following breaks these terms, and we may block or refuse a request that looks like one of them.
- Piracy. Saving copyrighted work to share, sell or distribute it without the rights holder's permission.
- Commercial reuse. Selling, re-uploading or monetising someone else's content, or passing it off as yours. Section 4 goes into it.
- Scraping and automation. Pointing bots, scripts, crawlers or any other automated tool at 9vids, or building another service that runs on top of it.
- Getting around the limits. Switching IP addresses is one way people try it. Spreading requests across browsers or devices to multiply the allowance is another, and so is faking the signals the page uses to show that a real browser sent the request. None of it is allowed, and neither is any other trick with the same aim.
- Attacking or overloading the service. Flooding it with requests, probing it for weak spots, or getting in the way of how it works for other people. Found a security problem? Tell bugs@9-vids.com about it rather than trying it out.
- Reaching private content. Trying to save posts that are private, friends-only or only visible once you've logged in. 9vids turns these down on purpose, and working around that isn't allowed.
- Harming others. Using a saved file to harass anyone, impersonate them or expose them.
Is downloading videos with 9vids legal?
It depends on what you download and on the law where you live, and neither is something we can judge from here. 9vids only works with public posts. A post being public doesn't make it free to reuse, though; the creator or rights holder still owns it, and copyright covers their work whether it sits behind a login or not.
In many places, keeping a personal copy of a public video to watch yourself is treated differently from republishing it, selling it or presenting it as your own, and those generally need the rights holder's permission. Where exactly the line falls isn't the same everywhere, and the platform's own terms can add rules about downloading on top of the law (section 9). If you stick to what these terms ask, keeping public content for personal use, respecting copyright, crediting the creator and not redistributing anyone's work without permission, you're on the careful side of that line.

A block list for creators and rights holders
Copyright violations aren't accepted on 9vids. If you made a post, or hold the rights to it, and you don't want it saved through us, send the link to dmca@9-vids.com.
We add it to the block list, and within about 30 seconds nobody can save that post through 9vids. We never held a copy to begin with, and any save links handed out before the block run out on their own within about 10 minutes.
The original post isn't touched by any of this. It stays wherever it was published, and getting it removed from the platform itself means contacting that platform.

The download limit is 5 an hour and 10 a day
Every visitor gets 5 downloads in any rolling hour and 10 in any rolling day.
Rolling means there's no reset at midnight or on the hour. Each download stops counting towards the hourly limit an hour after you made it, and towards the daily one a day after, so if you saved five videos between 2:00 and 2:20, the next one opens up at 3:00.
Failed links cost nothing, and pasting the same link again within 30 minutes is free as well.
Some posts are refused whatever you have left: anything private, friends-only or login-only, Instagram and Facebook stories, Facebook group posts, TikToks where the creator switched downloads off, and videos longer than an hour.
To count all this we hold scrambled, one-way versions of your IP address, your browser signature and the link for up to 24 hours, never the real IP in our own records; the privacy policy has the details.
TikTok, YouTube and the rest keep their own terms
Saving a TikTok doesn't stop you being a TikTok user, and the same goes for YouTube, Facebook, Snapchat, X, Instagram, SoundCloud, Dailymotion and VK. Each platform's terms of service and community rules keep applying to you as its user. 9vids doesn't replace them, and it can't give you a right that the platform, or the creator, never gave you.
9vids isn't affiliated with any of these platforms, or endorsed by them, or connected to them. Their names are on this site only so you can tell which links the tool works with.
Once it's saved, the file is your responsibility
9vids passes a public file from the platform to your browser, and our part stops there. Where the file goes next, whether the creator gets credit, and whether what you do with it respects copyright, the platform's rules and local law are for you to decide and yours to answer for.
We don't keep an eye on a file once it's saved.
Provided as it is, with no guarantee
You get 9vids as it is. There's no promise that it'll be up when you visit, that every link will work, or that a file will arrive in a particular quality or format.
Underneath it are nine platforms that change how they work whenever they like, often without telling anyone. One change on their side can stop downloads from that platform for a while, or for good, and we can't guarantee any of them will keep working with 9vids.
We fix what we can. A line to bugs@9-vids.com when something breaks means we hear about it sooner.
Blocking links and refusing use
We may block any link. We may also refuse or suspend use that's abusive, breaks these terms or puts the service at risk, sometimes without warning when the situation calls for it, and we do it to protect creators, the other people using 9vids and the service itself.
The service can change at any time too. Features can be changed, added or removed, the limits adjusted, platforms added or dropped, and the whole service paused or ended.
Limitation of liability
Losses that come from using 9vids, or from not being able to use it, aren't something we're responsible for; it's a free tool. That covers a download that fails or arrives damaged, a platform that stops working, lost time, and any problem caused by how you or anyone else uses a downloaded file.
The content isn't ours either. Every video, clip and track comes from the platform it was posted on and belongs to whoever holds its rights, so questions about the content itself go to them. If that's you and you want a link blocked here, section 7 explains how.
Nothing in these terms limits a liability that can't be limited under the applicable law where you live, or takes away rights you have there as a consumer. Where that law lets our liability be limited, it's limited as far as the law permits.
When local law says otherwise
These terms are read together with the applicable law where you live. Rights that law gives you stay yours even when these terms don't mention them, and if some part of the terms can't be enforced where you are, only that part drops out; the rest still applies.

These terms can change
An update can come when 9vids changes or when the law requires one, and the date at the top of the page shows the last time that happened. Carrying on with 9vids after an update counts as accepting it. If you don't agree with the changes, please stop using the service.
