Contact 9vids

There's no contact form on 9vids, and because nobody signs up there's no account page to send a message from either, so it comes down to email. The six addresses below each cover one sort of message, and the one you choose decides which inbox it lands in.

Whatever you send, a person reads it. The founder, Mohammad Ahsan, runs 9vids, and replies usually go out within a few working days.

Sponsorship

Brands and projects that want to sponsor 9vids should use this address. Tell us who you are and what you're picturing. If it has to start by a particular date, put that in the first email as well, so the reply can tell you what's possible.

Collaborations, add-ons, a platform we're missing

Pitch a collaboration here, or an add-on idea, or a platform you'd like 9vids to pick up. There are nine right now, which is where the name comes from; a tenth would leave the name in an awkward spot, but suggest it anyway. A few lines on what you're proposing and who it would help will do to start with. We read every one of these, though building them all isn't a promise we can make.

How to report a bug on 9vids

Plenty of failed downloads turn out to be posts that aren't public, so check that first. 9vids only fetches public posts, and anything private, friends-only or behind a login gets turned away. The other usual cause is the link itself, which has to point at the post; a link copied from a profile or a feed won't do. Instagram and Facebook stories are refused as well, and so is any video longer than an hour, and the FAQ on the homepage covers those along with a few other reasons a link can fail.

When the post is public and it still won't download, leave it a little while and try once more. A failed link doesn't count towards your download limit, so another go won't eat into it. If it goes on failing, write in with these:

  • Which page you were on, say the homepage or the TikTok page.
  • The link you pasted, in full.
  • Your device and browser. An iPhone with Safari, for example, or a Windows laptop with Chrome.
  • What happened, with the exact wording of any message on screen. Send a screenshot if you can.

With those we can usually try that exact link on the same sort of device ourselves, which is the fastest way we've found of seeing what went wrong.

Privacy questions and requests about your data

Questions about your data come to this address, and so do formal requests under data-protection law, such as asking what we hold on you or asking us to delete it.

Don't be surprised if the answer is short. The privacy policy sets out what 9vids keeps and for how long, and it isn't much.

General questions, or not sure which address to use

Anything that doesn't fit the addresses above goes here: a question about how 9vids works, feedback on the site, a line to say a download worked (nobody has to send those, but they're nice to get). If you can't tell which address your message belongs to, use this one and it'll still be read.

Will 9vids ever ask for my password?

No. We won't ask for it by email or anywhere on the site, and the same goes for your TikTok or Instagram login, the login for any other platform, and payment details. 9vids is free and works without an account, so none of that would be any use to us. If a message claiming to be from 9vids asks for one of these, it didn't come from us, and it's safest not to reply.
